At the Zoo... again!

Yeah... since we are Friends of the Zoo (Year long unlimited entries membership for the family), why not? The weather is great (cloudy) and it's been awhile since we were there. Usually, we head in around lunch time so we can have our lunch there. Great place for a picnic (if you don't mind the smell of animals).

As usual, someone has to take the picture and it's daddy...

Today, our target animal to see was the penguins and we got to see quite a few! Even wanted to stay for the show at 2.30pm but it got too crowded and we decided to leave since we could not get any decent views of the show. We should be renewing the membership for next year... it's a good deal if you ask me.

Mummy and Daddy.

Jared Loves Cars....

Give him something that resembles wheels and he shouts out "Car! Car!" A car is a car, a bus is a car and as I found out, so are motorcycles. Don't know if I've said this before, but he said the word "Car!" before any other word we could understand. Leave him alone with a car, and he's happy as a claim... that is until one of his two sisters comes in and try and snatch it away from him. Usually.. it ends up with someone being smacked or bitten and it's often Jared getting it. He's quite tolerant of his two sister's nonsense and will not fight back until he's had enough. If I could use adjective to describe him, these would be it.. for now.

  1. Strong (physically)
  2. Quiet (goes with Strong, not as verbal as the sisters)
  3. Friendly (able to adapt to strangers quicker)
Knowing that he loves cars and anything to do with it, we got this from the toy store. It's a TOMY car track that is 3 levels high, has motorized ramps that brings the cars to the top and then gravity does the rest. Works with MatchBox cars (they run a bit quicker due to their weight) but should be used ideally with TOMY cars. TOMY cars are a little more expensive ($4.90) and from what I've seen, they only make Japanese model cars. MatchBox cars are cheaper ($3.50) and offer a wider range. Not all of the Matchbox or TOMY vehicles can be used for this track... so we choose whatever cars we liked (and hoped he likes too) that will allow him to play either way.

The girls got Kitchen sets... yes.. that's 2 Kitchen Sets. Not that we intended it to be so, but because the second set was at a great offer at Robinsons and so we got it. I will update this entry when I snap some pics of it intact.

TOMY Car Track.. goes pretty fast around the corners!

Merry Christmas from Earth/Singapore/East/Pasir Ris/Blk 119/Level 8

Christmas is a time of sharing and giving. Some give more, some less but what is important is the sharing. We encounter a lot of people in our lifetime and somehow, we always fall back on the same group of "people"... these are what I call, Friends. (Good ones I might add) These are the people that work on the same frequency as you and have the same interests as you (even lame corny jokes). It's tougher than it looks.. but finding a good friend is like investing in a Blue chip share, the returns are Great!

Merry Christmas everyone!

While mommy & daddy were in Hong Kong

While Mommy & Daddy were in Hong Kong, the 3 little ones were out with GongGong, PoPo and the 2 Titas at the annual Xmas party with Jie Jie Yi Ling as their Babysitter as well..... they had a great time. Running around, jumping & sitting on balloons..... having lots to eat, meeting the "Super Heroes" and making new friends......

A big "Thank You" to GongGong & PoPo for taking them to the party while we were in HK.

Mommy and Daddy is back!

Yeah.... back from Hong Kong we are tired! Walked and ate a lot. Mommy also bought quite a few things for herself and for the kids. Daddy only bought a few pieces of clothings (cause they were really cheap and on discount) and a spare battery for the 40D. Oh.. we also got shoes!... only Jared and Daddy though... could not find the right type for the girls.. so Mommy said to get it back in SG.

Here's what we got for Boy-Boy.

And Daddy has a matching one as well! Nice!

And here's one of the ONLY pics of Mommy and Daddy together in a pic! Hard to take pictures of yourself when it's just the 2 of you...

It's Christmas Time...2007!

The tree is UP at SK. What's missing are the presents... time to go shopping! Talk about shopping, Mommy and Daddy is making a trip to Hong Kong on from the 14-17 Dec. Short trip...we can't bear to be away from the kids any longer. :-)

Tree was setup this afternoon by Daddy, Marilou and Lea. Mummy was in the room with the kids while they took their afternoon nap.

p/s updated the X'mas tree with *new* LED lights and they are GREAT!

Everyday is a New Day!

Getting to spend more time with the trio, you see how each has it's own character and how they deal with everyday situations and the life they have as Triplets. The trio are indeed blessed with one another and us of them.

We brought the kids to the market and had breakfast at Mac's.
From the Left: Lea, Jillian, Jared, Joanne & Marilou.

Here are the trio after they've had their evening shower...

dating when she's 21.

Joanne again, practicing to be Miss India.

More time with the Triplets...

Kinda due to the new job position Daddy took. I get to spend more time at home now.. which is a good thing. (considering the price of private commuting, almost US$100 a barrel! CRAZY!!!) and the kids like it... I think.

I dunno.. whenever I pop out from my "office" they all cling to me and won't let me go.. and there's only so much of me to go around. I carry 2 at a time whenever I can and that is still not enuff... the 3rd one would somehow try and climb onto me.. which is not good for anybody. Don't want to blame anyone... (I think I'm just getting OLD), but I recently found out that I got Tennis Elbow on my left arm! yeah.. I don't play tennis and I'm right handed.. now.. how did that happen. Well, according to the doc.."you have been carrying heavy things too much with your left arm right?"... erm, does carrying kids count? Well, I guess it does and I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon. So it looks like I'm going to suffer a bit longer and try to see if I can fix the elbow problem with Phiten.

Here's the daily schedule of my time with the kids.... (changes with the weather and the work... of course)
- wake up.. watch Lazy Town, High-5, Blue's Room.. etc
- morning --> playground downstairs (they have slides there which they love)
- back home for morning shower
- morning nap
- wake up, play and then prep for lunch
- lunch and watch "educational" TV
- play
- play
- play
- time for PM nap...
- head to the bigger playground.. (see here in pic with Joanne)
- go back home.. rest and cool off for dinner
- watch more educational TV.. Shaun the Sheep, I like.
- dinner and prep for shower
- play somemore (in AC room) until supper (milk time)
- sleep... till 6-7am the next day [Repeat schedule]

The schedule does change.. when we bring them to their grandparent's place... either JLB or Hume.

Here's Joanne at one of the BIGGER playgrounds.

Jared at JLB.. in the kitchen with green retro tiles...

And Jillian, with me at Hume.

Long Time No Hear from Mommy

As the title states, I've not posted on this sight for awhile.... or rather for a long time...... well, the story goes like this.... "No Time lah"..... kekeke =)

The 3 little ones are about 19 months already, can walk, run & learning to jump.... learning to talk already.... and now that they're a little more independent in their activities, mommy has more time to start blogging and also to have a little more "me" time.

Things are looking better now as they get older, the difficult times are almost over, now is the time when they want to learn to do things themselves... like feeding, dressing...brushing their teeth...& even washing themselves during bath time. Parenting them is also not easy as well... they try your patience, they will test your limits and see how far they can go.... running after them, giving them time out, the tantrums.....etc.

The kids these days are amazing, they learn fast, they pick up a lot of emotions & actions by just observing what you do, observe their surroundings...etc So interesting to watch these 3 grow up.
And the most amazing part for the 3 of them is they constantly learn from one another and they test one another to the limits as well. We have actually watch them chit chat and communicate with each other thru their version of "Baby Talk"... and best of all, they get it, they actually understand one another.... so interesting... then of cos, they fight, they argue, they bite.... like any other siblings squabbles... =)

Well, got to go... Jillian is awake, short morning nap for her.... and time to get ready for church.... till the next time....

Luv,
Mommy.

Weekend with the kids...

Every weekend(Sundays), we bring the kids over to my parent's place. There, in addition to the change in environment, they also get to play with numerous toys in the house and there's a garden too! Having a garden is like have an open playground that is controlled.. by the fence. Cars zooming past are no longer a concern.. except when it makes loud noises.. then the kids get startled.

Last weekend, Mell treated them to bubble-fun! Initially, we took them to the East Coast Beach for a walk and then Mell, out from no where, took out the bubble blowing toy and the next thing you know, the beach is not that important to the kids anymore. So we drove back home and let the kids play with the bubbles in the garden.

Mell started making bubbles from the bubble-making toy there were bubbles EVERYWHERE! The kids loved it.. I enjoyed it and as you can see in the pictures... everyone is having fun. Playing with these simple toys, brings back memories of simple things in life. I'm actually going to see if I can get my hands on those plastic-gum like things where you can actually blow up a bubble and let the kids hold on to it. Gonna have to watch them though.. everything goes into their mouth these days...

Mum & Dad

The kids nose have stopped "leaking"

Seriously.. it's no joke when they get sick. Yes, when one gets it, they all somehow end up having it.

This happened about 3-4 weeks ago when they were due for their immu-jabs at the PD. The PD said that there would be a chance that they would get a fever and to be prepared for it. Sure enough, Jillian somehow caught the running nose (she can't run yet but she can catch something that runs. hmm)

Anyway.. soon enough, the other 2 also got it and soon, we had to manage their leaky nose as well as the cough that came as a package. They were leaking, coughing, and vomiting. Whenever they are sick, it's all very challenging for everyone around the house to play their part.

Well, the worse is over and they are back to their naughty ways again (very happy actually). Jillian is back to biting everything (including her brother and sister) and Joanne is back to "bottom-less pit" appetite. Jared is just happy to entertain Jillian with her biting habits (he has bite marks to show for it). It has been quite sometime since we brought the kids out and we sure miss doing that.

Here's some pics of the trio being FREE of virus.

Presenting the triplets at almost 16 months..

The eldest of the lot, Jillian giving us a BIG smile - Miss Cheeky.

Being the big sister, she is right now the smallest among her siblings. Never short of cheeky antics to display, she is really quite funny.

No 2, Joanne - Miss Must-have-it-all.

Joanne on the other hand, is towering over the other two and oh boy, she sure knows how to use her height and strength to her advantage!

The youngest and only hunk, Jared - Mr Cool.

Jared is super nonchalant and we can tell that he honestly doesn't allow himself to be taunted by his two older sisters. He just goes about doing his own stuff unless he is mercilessly provoked.

Among the three, I find Jillian resembling me the most. Actually, she really looks like her father.. erm.. who is my brother.. so it's no surprise that all three of us look alike! Hmm.. having said that, the three of us should take a photo and you'll see how uncanny the resemblance is!

I was trying to achieve the same expression as Jillian here. Everyone had a really good laugh!

We are "outstanding" Catholics...

Having kids, young ones is a very challenging thing. You can scold them.. and usually they either ignore you or cry. You try reasoning with them, they think you are wasting their time and again, cry if they feel if you are scolding them. So what can you do when they start making noise in Church? You bring them out and entertain them and whenever possible, try and sneak back in... but being active kids, you can't keep them still and out you go again.

For the past few weeks, I am the resident "Outstanding" Catholic cause I will not be sitting down in church (even though there are seats) cause I need to be ready to jet out of church when someone cries or starts showing signs of impatience. Just last week, all 3 decided that they wanted to be outstanding as well and so, all joined me outside Church.

Time with the Triplets...

We have been spending alot of time with the kids since Sharon's mother was away on holiday in China for a month. She's back now and we are more or less back to the old routine of the kids staying with them over at Hume during the weekdays.

Quite a lot has happened since.. the kids are walking already. Jillian was the first to walk.. amazingly, she was also the last to crawl. I guess she liked being carried around and when she got bored with that, she started to crawl.. so she could get around.. but then, she found out that walking is ever faster to get to where you want to go and quickly started to walk. Joanne, seeing that Jie-Jie is doing something new, also joined in the whole walking thing and so, the girls were soon very mobile. They would walk and walk round the dining table, play catching with one another while Jared, since he could crawl and crawl pretty well, did not really bother till later when he found out that it was actually slow to crawl and then finally only recently, decided to walk as well.

Now all 3 of them, walk wherever they liked and started to see things at a whole new level. Things that always seemed out of reach started to looked more attainable and so, things that are at their height level, started to get moved into even higher or out of sight.

Here's some random pics of the kids at home...

As you can see, they even invaded our walk-in closet.. think the girls like what they see .. but I guess it would be SO retro by they time they can fit into it...

They even like Mommy's handbags!

One of our favorite past-time activity is to head over to Ikea Tampines for lunch and there after, let the kids play around the kids section. For us, it's a opportunity for us to see what else can be done to the kids room.

While walking around, we came to the pillow section and found these $1.80 blue pillows. We took one up and handed it over to Joanne... next thing you know, you can't take it away from her.. she likes hugging it... for $1.80, it's not too expensive and decided to get 3 for the 3 of them.. once Jillian got hold of it.. she also wouldn't let it go... when I took it off her to pay for it, you can hear her screaming all the way...

Joanne with her blue pillow...

It's my precious!!!!

Jillian: Daddy.. why are you looking at my pillow as if you are going to take it away from me?

Next that followed was...WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

Sharon wanted to bring the kids to Sentosa to play with sand.. but with sand being a highly sought after item these days... I decided that heading over to East Coast Parkway would be easier as we could also head over to Ah-Ma's place later.

We have brought the kids to the beach before.. and they've seen the sea and all, but not actually on the beach. SO, we finally brought them down. So as you can imagine, this whole sand and waves crashing onto the shore is totally new for them and they were all very cautions of what was what.

Jared did not take much persuasion to play with the sand..a s compared to the girls.. Jillian was especially afraid.. and Joanne, again, looking at what others are doing and knowing that it was also safe to do so, also finally took to walking on the beach.

Here's Jared being embedded in sand... he does not look too happy but he's also not complaining.. so I guess that's a good sign. ;-)

Joanne here with Lea. She's checking out the whole wave scene.... safe or not safe... hmmm

Here's a pic of Jared taking a guided tour on the beach with Mary.

and here Joanne is with Lea.

and where is Jillian??? Safe with Ah-Ma! Jillian: "I don't want to go there....... looks scary! Here's with Ah-Ma.. BEST!"

Watch this space.. will be posting videos of the kids dancing!!!

Mom & Dad
