We are "outstanding" Catholics...

Having kids, young ones is a very challenging thing. You can scold them.. and usually they either ignore you or cry. You try reasoning with them, they think you are wasting their time and again, cry if they feel if you are scolding them. So what can you do when they start making noise in Church? You bring them out and entertain them and whenever possible, try and sneak back in... but being active kids, you can't keep them still and out you go again.

For the past few weeks, I am the resident "Outstanding" Catholic cause I will not be sitting down in church (even though there are seats) cause I need to be ready to jet out of church when someone cries or starts showing signs of impatience. Just last week, all 3 decided that they wanted to be outstanding as well and so, all joined me outside Church.

Time with the Triplets...

We have been spending alot of time with the kids since Sharon's mother was away on holiday in China for a month. She's back now and we are more or less back to the old routine of the kids staying with them over at Hume during the weekdays.

Quite a lot has happened since.. the kids are walking already. Jillian was the first to walk.. amazingly, she was also the last to crawl. I guess she liked being carried around and when she got bored with that, she started to crawl.. so she could get around.. but then, she found out that walking is ever faster to get to where you want to go and quickly started to walk. Joanne, seeing that Jie-Jie is doing something new, also joined in the whole walking thing and so, the girls were soon very mobile. They would walk and walk round the dining table, play catching with one another while Jared, since he could crawl and crawl pretty well, did not really bother till later when he found out that it was actually slow to crawl and then finally only recently, decided to walk as well.

Now all 3 of them, walk wherever they liked and started to see things at a whole new level. Things that always seemed out of reach started to looked more attainable and so, things that are at their height level, started to get moved into even higher or out of sight.

Here's some random pics of the kids at home...

As you can see, they even invaded our walk-in closet.. think the girls like what they see .. but I guess it would be SO retro by they time they can fit into it...

They even like Mommy's handbags!

One of our favorite past-time activity is to head over to Ikea Tampines for lunch and there after, let the kids play around the kids section. For us, it's a opportunity for us to see what else can be done to the kids room.

While walking around, we came to the pillow section and found these $1.80 blue pillows. We took one up and handed it over to Joanne... next thing you know, you can't take it away from her.. she likes hugging it... for $1.80, it's not too expensive and decided to get 3 for the 3 of them.. once Jillian got hold of it.. she also wouldn't let it go... when I took it off her to pay for it, you can hear her screaming all the way...

Joanne with her blue pillow...

It's my precious!!!!

Jillian: Daddy.. why are you looking at my pillow as if you are going to take it away from me?

Next that followed was...WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

Sharon wanted to bring the kids to Sentosa to play with sand.. but with sand being a highly sought after item these days... I decided that heading over to East Coast Parkway would be easier as we could also head over to Ah-Ma's place later.

We have brought the kids to the beach before.. and they've seen the sea and all, but not actually on the beach. SO, we finally brought them down. So as you can imagine, this whole sand and waves crashing onto the shore is totally new for them and they were all very cautions of what was what.

Jared did not take much persuasion to play with the sand..a s compared to the girls.. Jillian was especially afraid.. and Joanne, again, looking at what others are doing and knowing that it was also safe to do so, also finally took to walking on the beach.

Here's Jared being embedded in sand... he does not look too happy but he's also not complaining.. so I guess that's a good sign. ;-)

Joanne here with Lea. She's checking out the whole wave scene.... safe or not safe... hmmm

Here's a pic of Jared taking a guided tour on the beach with Mary.

and here Joanne is with Lea.

and where is Jillian??? Safe with Ah-Ma! Jillian: "I don't want to go there....... looks scary! Here's with Ah-Ma.. BEST!"

Watch this space.. will be posting videos of the kids dancing!!!

Some misc pictures.... finally had time to upload. ;-)

Jared - At home... learning to walk. Seeing how fun it is that the sisters are doing it.

Princess No.1.Jillian. Acting like one.. laying back in her high-chair waiting for food to be served to her. ;-)

Princess No.2. Joanne.

Again, like No.1, waiting in her high-chair to be served her food. This was at Fish&Co I believe. That night, we had dinner with The Chongs and the Siows.. but had to be seated at different tables due to the group size. What a outing!

Here's Jillian with Mommy out shopping. Soon after this shot was taken, she fought to take off the sunglasses. Good thing too! if not, daddy has to buy it. hahaha

Here's a picture of Joanne sitting in the twin stroller. It is not easy to get them to sit inside and it turns out, Joanne is the one that can stay in there the longest. Being such, she sits in the car-seat as well when we need to put one of them in when we go out. Good girl.... :-)

Last but not least, a picture of them playing together.. this is a everyday thing.. no joke. When they want to cluster.. they seriously cluster around you.. so you better be prepared.

More picture after the jump.

The Triplets 1st B'day.. (16 Mar)

The first time we went to the Zoo.. was on Mommy's B'day (12 Feb). We are back at the Zoo again. this time, it's the Triplets B'day!!! woot!

This time at the Zoo, we had a a few friends with us. Leonard and Family was there.. and Alexander with his daughter. We even met Mark Wong and Family as well as Peter and his family. Again, we did not manage to spend more time there as the kids were getting tired (11am to 2pm) and the weather was threatening to rain with thunder.

We left the Zoo about 2pm while Leo stayed behind till 5+ (he was caught in the rain...)

The Zoo somehow seems smaller that what I remembered 20 years ago.. maybe we were young then and something this "big" was relative then. Take a walk down town.. that's what I call BIG.

The kids are starting to walk with Jillian showing signs of being the first one... the other two could still do it before Jillian.. will see how that goes. In terms of size, Joanne is leading the pack with Jillian and Jared a little behind. Jared is rather picky on the food he eats so we need to top-up with other stuff. The PD said that their weight is in the normal zone..not too fat nor too thin so we are ok with that. In terms of bite, Jared has teeth like Jaws and Jillian has only 1.. with another one soon on the way. Joanne is somewhere in the middle....

They are also more vocal now... learning to shout and gesture to get your attention. Joanne has the honour to get labeled "Super-Glue" as she loves to cling to me. Once she sees me, I can't escape.. I have to show her some attention. The other two are not as enthusiastic as she is.. but when they start to cling.. they come all together. ;-)

We also bought them more toys... and I like to get them Mega-Blocks. This is one particular toy that you can mix and match and always come up with something different which is what the kids yearn for. They get bored with a particular toy and would look at whoever is holding on to and want that instead. It's interesting to see how they want things. Joanne is pretty strong-willed when it comes to things she wants. Jared and Jillian would often give in to her. In some occasions though, they do get into "who can cry the hardest" to settle who gets what they want.. and often, we will give it to the winner. We are always trying to get them to share but I guess they are still a little young to know that.. but we will keep trying...

How time flies... (or it seems.. now that we are here) the kids just reached the 1 yr old mark. Soon, they will be asking for ipods (or whatever is in fad then) and soon after.. they will be getting married.

Point being.. enjoy your parenting and enjoy your life.

Luv,

mommy and daddy

Happy Golden Pig Year!!!

It's a brand new year (Lunar).

Here's an update to what's been happening so far.

Brought the kids to the Zoo for the first time and joined the Friends Of the Zoo club which gives us unlimited entries into the zoo for 1 year. We intend to go every other month so it makes sense to join. The last time any of us stepped into the zoo was almost 20 years ago!

Incidentally, the day we were at the zoo was Mommy's B'day. That evening, the entire family had a good buffet dinner at the Melt. We ended our outing at the zoo with some performances by a Seal. Joanne was so excited that she kept screaming.

Jared on the other hand, was not enjoying the hot humid weather so much and was getting tired.

We should be visiting the zoo soon. Maybe this time, our friends can join us.

CNY (Chinese New Year) is a time of gathering and catching up with family member and friends. As you get older, and wiser (hopefully), all you hope for in the coming year is good health. You can't ask for any better than that.

Here's wishing everyone, a very Happy Lunar New Year! *oink* *oink*

Huat!

textual updates...(short post tho)

The babies are doing fine.. they just recovered from mild stomach flu (got it from the daddy) and it was quite an experience. Good thing they all had their rotavirus jabs which kinda helped them get over the unpleasantness.

Joanne has started to crawl and she is just as mobile as Jared. Jillian seeing the two of them moving around, has finally started to decided to join in the whole crawling game.

Will try and post some latest photos of them...

Bye Bye 2006 and Hello 2007!

Since I work for a company that has a annual shutdown for the holidays, I got to spend quite a bit of time with the kids. Lots of things happening that time and lots to do! First off, daddy got a new ride for the family.

If you can't figure out what car it is yet, it's a Honda Odyssey. I won't bore you with the details.. if you want to know more, Google it. ;-)

Back to the kids. Dec is a time of holidays and this year round, wet wet wet weather! From what I understand, it hasn't rains this much in 137 yrs! So as you can imagine, it kinda limits the going out options. No beaches, no parks, no walks.. not long walks anyway. As a family, we did head on down to Orchard Rd to check out the lights and seems like only Jillian enjoyed them the most. She kept looking up and around her.. and was so fascinated with the lights around her. Jared and Joanne just enjoyed their time out... they like going out. They get all excited whenever we dress them up and head out the door and into the car. Talking about car, there seems that the kids LOVE to take dumps in cars.. whenever we are driving around, someone has to take a dump. Don't know if it's the enclosed environment or what... it never fails!

Here's a few pics of the kids downtown...

Jared with Mommy

The Family...as you can see, it's hard to get a good shot.

Here's another shot together with the Grandparents

Among the 3 kids, Joanne is the biggest and the heaviest of the lot. She's about 9kg now and according to the PD, is doing very well and nothing to worry about. Jillian is the lightest but she looks to be the cutest.. she has those chubby cheeks! Looking back at Jared pics when he was a little younger, he has lost some weight. He's pretty picky with what he eats and according to the Mommy, he has a sweet tooth like me! bwhahah He hates fishy stuff....

Here's a few more pics of them over at one of our fav dinning place in Taka. It's our fav cause they will get a table that is BIG enough for you and they don't rush you to finish eating (we can take awhile to eat.. have to take turns to eat and look after the kids!). The other good thing is that they have baby chairs.. which is very very important if anyone wants to get to eat anything during meal time.

Joanne - She moves alot! Need to get a better camera! ;-)

Jillian - All dressed up with hairstyling done by the Marilou.

Jared is missing here... hmm.. I think he was grumpy and was taken out for a walk. We have alot more pictures from where this came from for Dec but it's in the Other camera..I will try and grab the pics and post them up on [Flickr].

Holiday season....

The kids are much better now, all of them caught the cough and flu bug and almost the entire family got sick at somepoint in time. Now that they are much better, it's time for a good outing!

As you can see here, Joanne is much happier now, she was such a grouch when I had to suck mucus out from her nose.

Here's a pic of Jillian trying to be cute.. blowing saliva bubbles.

and here is Jared in the morning.. he's quite a morning baby!

As mentioned, after a long while at home, everyone wanted to get out for some fresh air. We headed to Tanglin Mall cause they had some snow-flake like thing there every year..by the time we got there, the floor was already wet and I guess we missed it. We did manage to catch some shots tho.. but Joanne was sleeping.. so she's out of the pic.

Over in Tanglin, there's a specialty shop that sells toys that are not commonly found in shopping malls and Jared was really enjoying all the toys. I hope I don't have to buy too many.. quite expensive!

Oh and did I mention to you that Jared has found a "sugar" mommy? yeah.... Check out who she is!!!

Here's a picture of the girls with their mommy. Not easy to carry 2 of them on your lap leh.....

anyway.. more pictures can be seen over at Flickr.

updates... it's been awhile. Sorry.

Just got back from the San Francisco about a week ago and the place hasn't changed much. I went there on a company summit event and it was great that I can finally put faces to names. That's the problem when you work with people around the world, you don't often have the chance to meet them.... meeting up, does help improve working relationships. more of such trips!

The babies are doing well except that Jared got the cough that kinda caused his running nose which then cause the phlegm in his throat which is causing much discomfort and not getting much sleep. He is recovering thou but as of today, Jillian somehow caught the virus and she too is coughing a little. Her temperature is also on the rise and she hasn't been eating well. She keeps puking out her milk. Jillian oh Jillian.. pls drink your milk then we can feed you your meds.

Here's a pic of Joanne after attending one of many wedding dinners to come.. hahaha. She had fancy pins on her head which were taken out when she was about to take a bath... and the hair still stood up! hahah..

Could not take picture of the rest as by the time I got back from parking the car, only Joanne was left in her outing dress. ;-)

More updates later... gotta run!

Love,

Mommy Daddy

Day in SF

Hi all,

reporting in from SF on what's happening so far. Thanks to Tad for the excellent instructions on taking Interstate 280 North and getting off at 19th Ave and I was at the bridge already. If I trusted the stupid GPS, I think I would be lost already...

Anyway.. here's me at the vistor Vista area, the pic is a little dark cause the sun was coming from behind.

Here's a pic of the bridge showing all the cars travelling across..... traffic is not too bad. Much better than our causeway.

After this, drove a little further up the hills along Marin to get to the scenic points...

Here's me posing with the bridge as the backdrop.. very touristy hor...

Enuff of the red bridge, headed back into the city and nearly got lost... thanks to our "excellent" GPS system.

When we finally found the hotel, took a pic while waiting around...

Next.. lunch!.. by the time we got to the wharf, it was close to 2pm already.. hungry! Decided to drop back to signature place to get Clam Chowder.. Boudin's!

after lunch... the MUST go place is Pier 39. So.. here's me there...

after doing the necessary tourist things... head to rush to catch the Muni to connect to CalTrain. So here's a pic of me on the Muni...

and while riding the muni, I passed by Old Navy!!! It's the biggest store!

The ride from SF to Mountain View is around 50mins and costs about $5. The funny thing is that when the train service started, the driver did the usual annoucements but in a very airliney way....... Truly amazing... and entertaining. Show that they have pride in what they do and enjoy their jobs.. at least they seem like it.

SF is fun.. I hope I get to spend another day roaming the streets.... Jamba Juice!

Cheerio!
Daddy
